Now that I'm out of the hospital and feeling a lot better (see "avoiding hospital" thread for details), I started back to work this week.
On Monday, that first day back, I was involved in a car accident. I'm ok and it wasn't my fault.
Some %&^*^% idiot decided to take a right turn from the lane to my left. Unfortunately, I was in the right lane and his old van destroyed a good portion of my front end.
Luckily, we were in front of a court house building, so a slew of cops where within 30 seconds. My gf saw it happen (she was standing at the corner) since I was going to pick her up for lunch (she's had a shitty month, too, with everything happening to me).
The guy got a ticket for an illegal right turn and expired insurance.
I called the insurance company, and yep, he really didn't seem to have any insurance that day (he had an expired card and insurance says it wasn't active that day).
So, I've lost a week when repairs could've started on my car (it's not driveable) because they're trying to get a hold of the guy.
Bottomline: this will end up on my policy (thank god for uninsured motorist plans) and I may have to sue the guy for any deductible I pay. Fun.
But, the good thing is that I wasn't injured and my car is fixable. Even better, May is ALMOST over. I'm crossing my fingers and toes nothing else happens. Sheesh.
I'll be sporadic on the board at best while all this gets resolved. Hope everyone else's May has been good (and send me good vibes).
*hugs to all*

Be careful, sis. Do I have to come out there and tend to you?
Although, I will be passing through Texas Sunday en route to visit relatives in Denver. Put some signs along the major highways, maybe I'll see them.

OK, you have a week left. Stay in the house. Tell work you've had a relapse. Don't go anywhere. That way, short of your house burning down, May can't get you.
And for the record, I've had the whole killer month thing happen. It's not pretty. Good luck making it through the next 7 days.

I'll join in the May sucks category. I let my dental insurance expire due to procrastination and thinking I had more choices than I did.
So guess what?
My back tooth decides to go postal and $1500 later it will hopefully be fixed, unless the tooth in front of that one is also cranky, a definate possibility.
So I am $500 into the process (of money I don't really have) and it still hurts like hell, I can't sleep and I am definately reaching cranky...
But I think I have one or two spare good vibes to send your way Bran *hugs*
And I am very glad you weren't injured. *extra hugs*

Yeesh...so much for, "April showers bring May flowers..." Hang in there? (Think about the cute little kitten poster that that slogan made famous...)

Oh I'm so sorry, I'm having a shitty month too, if it helps...
I have a cure: warm water, green tea flavoured soap, some calm music and a glass of milk. It makes me feel at peace with the world.
It can't be a horrible life when you've got milk!
